12 volt adapter Tandberg TP40

Hello, since this week I have owned a beautiful portable Tandberg TP 40. I would like to purchase a 12 volt adapter, but I do not know how many amperes it should be. The radio runs on 6 batteries (D-cell) of 1.5 volts. can anyone help me? the manuals - if you can find them - provide no solution. Kind regards, Walter
